The Hippo is addicted. What girl wouldnt fall for a super wealthy tall thin eccentric aristocrat who spoke with a mellifluous delta accent with ineffable southern politeness, a well learned polyglot, with dual doctorships, and fought with preternatural abilities, but at the same time arrogant and a show off? shouldnt have picked up the Book of the Dead. And now she cant stop reading.

pendergast
Pendergast is the only series that the Hippo couldnt decide which character she likes better. Although Aloysius was the super fantasy man, more than James Bond and Christian Grey, and Holmes, or perhaps all 3 combined, Vincent was the one who stole my heart. Complete opposite of Pendergast's character, sorta like Watson to Holmes, Vincent was a down to earth sweetie, tough cop with integrity and a good heart (although on one episode one of his heart valve was grazed by a bullet - because of Pendergast - and needed a replacement!). Poor dude got some rough times in the series but ended up (so far) with a woman with 'amazing knockers', well deserved. "My dear Vincent" - Love this character.

Although the series was not without its flaws (and a great many of them), they were well written and highly entertaining, and sure took the Hippo away from her mundane dull and uninteresting world.
