Pinot Grigio, Goia and Fantasia

The castle looked authentic but we knew it was a fake. Although every little detail was there, including blocking up the doors (due to the medieval tax on doors) and broken walls (due to enemy attack), it's just not like a real ancient castle. The tour was interesting as the guide was funny and animated and the story of the owner not boring. The Italian wine was very good. Low alcohol content and mostly very fruity. Heavenly! We purchased 3 bottles: Pinot Grigio, Gioia and the sweet prosecco like, Fantasia. Hippo's a castle freak, and she misses visiting castle, so even tho this one was fake, it's better than nothing. She cant wait to get back to Europe and be in a real castle. We rode in T's periwinkle van, quite comfortable for 6, and it's L's bathday. Actually she was the who suggested the wine tour in St Helena. We visited Clos Pegase, Castello di Amorosa and V Vittui by the same owner. I liked the architecture at Pegase, so very Mediterranean, and the relaxing atmosphere at Vittui. And the weather was gorgeous. Day trips like these can be so soothing!
