That was the second AD anniversary the Hippo had attended. Last year's gambling in-house was fun and my group won a free lunch (still remember how I wiped out everyone on the poker table). This year it was a fortune to be in Bay Meadows before it closes for good. The buffet was awesome although I couldnt eat much because I still got the flu. But I've learned how to bet on horses and even won 2 races. It's nerve racking to see your horse race, going ahead and losing out at the end, or somehow miraculously sprinting to be the first to cross the finish line. The afternoon was warm and sky clear. The track was bigger than I thought. Downstairs, one get to check out the horses before the race and see them line up in their respective stalls and parade out to the winners circle before getting on the track. It's quite ceremonial. Gambling is exciting and is not Hippo from a gambling family from a gambling country?
